Samples of my work as an entrepreneur, hands-on creative director/user experience designer and team leader.
I am building SmartSpark from the ground up to enable powerful behavioral science to enter people's lives through a fun, social, video experience. After years of diving into best practices in building addicting software, it's incredibly fulfilling to be able to turn that into a tool that empowers people to better their lives!

Annmarie's Healthy Eating SmartSpark #1
This is an example of a template that uses both user-generated video and intelligently selected 3rd party imagery to create a short-video that inspires healthier eating. The user has gone through priming inspired by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify the healthier behavior which she sees again with novel imagery. We have tested with women throughout the US with a more than 90% success rate at triggering healthier eating. Read the science that help explains why.
A day in the life with SmartSpark
A day in the life scenario is something I love to do early on in product development. The process of creating this video helped clarify ideas and hone-in on the feel of our initial release.
Intro to SmartSpark testing
I made this intro video for our first testers with my iphone and Premiere.
Like a spoonful of sugar
My aesthetic approach for SmartSpark for it to feel clean, familiar, yet beautiful, fun and humbly powerful.
The Mood Project
The Mood Project is a prototype that I created to experiment with the notion of using media to help trigger mood changes.
I built this prototype from top to bottom in 2012, and get great joy that somehow people are still finding it and spending an average of 16 minutes on the prototype per visit.
mEgo was my solution for the cluttered, disconnect user-experience of many of our digital lives. It is an avatar that organizes all of your apps and info in an intuitive UI that's particularly helpful on small screen devices. mEgo's acted as a portable profile, loved by millions of people around the world.
The Portable Profile
HISTORY: Back in the days of 'widgets' mEgo enabled people to share deep profiles (with feeds coming in from flickr, amazon, facebook, myspace, etc.) to as many places as they wanted. A user would enter their profile data once on mEgo.com and then be able to expose different levels of that data on their social profiles. See videos of it in action here.
The servers are down, so now we look back at what interacting with a social mego via video. The avatar had hotspots that triggered panels. We patented this concept.
Early version of Home Page
The dashboard view of all the content that the mego carried with controls for sharing.
A Focus on Virtual Goods
We started making money off of selling virtual assets for people's megos, so we decided to go full-focus on to the avatar even going so far as to drop the profile management. We created partnerships with Adidas, Missy Elliot and The NBA.
A few years into mego, there was a goldrush in the world of Virtual Goods - and mEgo got sucked in. We made the best of it, creating a gorgeous avatar editor and set-up wizard and building partnerships with The NBA, Adidas and more.

Fast Company Interview with Robert Scoble
"Bring Your Social Networking Profile Together With mEgo" was the title given by Fast Company during our PR launch campaign. I greatly enjoyed getting the word-out about mEgo with interviews, guest blogging and panel participation.
